A continuation of Winter Orchard Care I with a tree fruit grafting lab included. Hosted by WSU Jefferson County Extension at the Finnriver Orchard. Join Cameron Denning, Finnriver orchard manager, and Judi Stewart Master Gardener, for a day of winter orchard management.Topics include:
- Tool sharpening (bring pruners!)
- Tree pruning for optimal production
- Tree Fruit Grafting 101
Each participant can register for the whole workshop or just the Tree Fruit Grafting 101 section. We will provide each participant with 3 pieces of P2 1/4″ rootstock and scionwood from cider apple trees from Finnriver Orchard. You are welcome to bring scionwood from your own orchard if it is compatible with P2 1/4″ rootstock. |
