6/20 Webinar: Celebrating LGBTQAI+ Farmers

Karen Washington is a Black and queer woman working to reclaim farming and the freedom it brings. She is the founder of Rise & Root Farm and has spent decades promoting urban farming as a way for all New Yorkers to access fresh, locally grown food.

As an urban campesinx, botanist, and artist, Edgar Xochitl raises awareness on the importance of flowers as resistance tools to colonialism, to heal the bodies and spirits of Queer and Trans People of Color, rehabilitate the soil, capture carbon, and provide new genetic material.
