School/Childcare Nutrition Staff & Farmer Sales Networking Meeting

Are you a farmer, food producer, or local food supplier interested in selling products to a local school district or childcare center in Northwest Washington? Are you school district nutrition staff or childcare meal program interested in buying more food and ingredients from local farms? Come connect directly with school & childcare buyers and local farmers to help get more farm fresh foods to local kids!
Hear from school & childcare nutrition staff about their meal programs and how they feed kids, how they’ve adapted meal and food distribution during COVID-19, and current and future food and product needs. Hear from local farmers and food suppliers about products they’ll have available for schools, and how you can bring in their products for your meals.
Goals for the meeting:
- Inform local farmers about school districts’ current product needs and vendor requirements
- Share information with school & childcare food buyers about what products are available, and which farms could supply them
- Plan ahead for product needs and/or Harvest of the Month items for 2021
- Provide farmers and school districts with a direct sales networking opportunity and troubleshoot challenges
Farm to school is a great way to be a part of making sure kids in your community have access to nutritious foods. Start planning your future farm to school purchases or sales. RSVP and be a part of educating students about local agriculture, and where their food comes from!
When you register, please fill out the brief questionnaire if you are a “Farmer/Supplier” or “School/Childcare” staff, so we can gather some key information from you.
We’ll also follow up before the meeting with an opportunity to provide more details, some materials and resources.
