Watch: Must farms provide paid sick leave for COVID? Yes!

May 6, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Please join Farm Commons for a webinar regarding when, whether and how farms (and all other businesses) must provide paid sick leave for employees experiencing COVID-19 either for themselves or their family. This short answer is yes, many farms are now obligated to provide paid sick leave, as well as family leave for employees with kids out of school/care because of COVID-19. As a community, let’s be proactive and help farmers and food businesses plan for it. There are some exceptions available as well as a tax credit. We’ll talk in detail about these issues, including how the tax credit aligns with other federal programs.
Don’t let a lawsuit be the farm’s first introduction to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Whether you are a producer or an agriculture support person, join us. This webinar addresses federal law, which applies to farmers, ranchers, and food producers in every state.
Wednesday, April 6, 2020
