FARMWALK 2018: Fall Cover Crops and the Value of On-Farm Education – Ephrata, WA

Cloudview Farm will demonstrate how, when, and why they sow fall cover crops, while experts will share research from projects being conducted on site. Farmer Jim Baird will also share his expertise on the value of school tours and on-farm education for market diversification.

Jim Baird has been growing crops such as apples, row crops, mixed vegetables, wheat and alfalfa for over 40 years. Ten years ago, Jim started Cloudview Farm to serve as an educational space for young people to learn about and embrace agriculture. Jim is passionate about healthy soils, healthy food and healthy people.
