Join us for Cultivating the Harvest on March 1st and 2nd. We will start the celebration on March 1st with a “pick-your-own” tour or workshop. Tour registrants will receive additional tour information and meeting locations by email.
Pre-Conference Tours and Workshop — Friday, March 1st
1- 4 pm (pick-one; workshop and tours are $15 per person; space is limited)
Tour topics include insects & pollinators, livestock & meat processing, and cheese processing, or choose to attend a workshop on farmland legacy. The tours will run from 1-4 pm, and the workshop will run from 1-3 pm. Select from one of the following:
- Farmland Legacy Workshop with Mary Swander ($15 – includes workshop materials)
- Insects and Pollinators Tour – Washington State University Bee Lab and the University of Idaho Entomology Lab ($15)
- Livestock & Meat Processing Tour – Vandal Meats, University of Idaho Dairy, and University of Idaho Sheep Facility ($15)
- Cheese Processing Tour – Brush Creek Creamery in Deary, ID ($15)
Evening Reception and Play Performance of “Map of My Kingdom” — Friday, March 1st
6-8 pm
We will host a reception with light appetizers and no-host bar at the Kenworthy Performaning Arts Centre in downtown Moscow at 6pm followed by a performance of the play, “Map of My Kingdom.” Conference Registration includes one ticket to the Friday performance (additional tickets may be purchased ala cart). 20th Anniversary Inland Northwest Small Acreage Farming Conference — Saturday, March 2nd
8:30 am – 5 pm ($60 first registration, $40 additional registration, $25 for students)
March 2nd will launch into our 20th Anniversary Inland Northwest Small Acreage Farming Conference at the University of Idaho Pitman Center. Topics will include On-Farm Research, Marketing, Farm Profits, Livestock and Regenerative Grazing, Insects & Pollinators, and Soils. The conference will include a Panel of Inland NW Leaders in Sustainable Small Farming and Ranching, and afternoon Farmer-to-Farmer Discussion Sesssions.
